Eric's Birth Day

Jasper II

Here's some more pics from our little excursion to Jasper. The last two are from Darrel and Jack's little mountain climbing adventure. The building is the top of the tramway, Darrel and Jack hiked all the way up from there! Well, Darrel hiked all the way up from there, and Jack rode. Pretty impressive.

Jasper I

We decided to escape our hot apartment and make a two day trip to Jasper -Eric's first road trip! We left Wednesday after lunch and stayed overnight in Hinton...for a couple moments there it looked like we might not be able to get a hotel room, and would have to head back to Edson, but all worked out well and we got a room at the Folding Mountain Resort. The next day we went into Jasper and strolled around the town. Our big adventure was riding the tramway up one of the mountains. Boy, that made me nervous, to have all my precious men and I packed in a little car, hanging on a cable, yikes. It's funny, the more people you "acquire" in your life -spouse, children, etc, the more aware you are of mortality! Jack and Darrel went on a big hike up to the top of the mountain while Eric and I stayed at the tramway station. Apparently it was quite the climb -pictures to follow.

Eric is a little dream baby, sleeps and eats, sleeps and sleeps and eats. I'm getting more sleep with this little newborn than I did with Jack for the first six months. Maybe this will jinx me and he'll take a turn for the worse -but for now I'm one happy momma!

Pregnancy Proof

This layout is particularly for Karly and others...who said that I didn't look pregnant in another photo on this blog, hahaha, that's because I've been strategic about which photos have gone up. But voila, with the magic of lycra t-shirts and a full side shot, you can see that yes indeed I am plenty pregnant and definitely ready to have this baby. Sigh, so interesting to note/see that it's not just the tummy the caboose tends to get a little rounder too in those nine months. I have vowed to myself that I am getting into shape after this baby. I still had 5-8 Jack pounds left when I got pregnant with Baby B...and I would like to be trimmer before attempting Baby C. (although right now I'm not even thinking/dreaming about a Baby C...just speaking hypothetically). Posted by Picasa

Still Squeezing in Scrapbooking Time

The last couple of nights Darrel has put Jack to bed around 8 and fallen asleep with him, giving me precious quiet time...but by the end of the day I'm so tired all I can do is sit and read or fool around on the computer. Can't wait to not be pregnant anymore!!!

I went to the doctor this morning, and hopefully I won't make it to my appointment next Friday because we'll already have a baby! Everyone is doing well though, Baby B is healthy and active. Posted by Picasa

Moving Update

We are here, we are here!
So technically that is old news, but oh well. The first two pics are from a rest stop in Regina. After the Uhaul fiasco we left Winnipeg the morning of July 1 and headed across the Prairies. Darrel is chasing a "very happy to be out of the car" Jack around the play area at the rest stop.

This is in our new apartment in Edmonton, Jack has been in 7th Heaven playing with things as we unpack. Who would have thought a pot scrubber would be so fascinating to a 1.5 year old.

Our apartment is pretty nice, small kitchen but it has a dishwashwer so I shouldn't complain. Our 3rd bedroom is full of boxes etc. that won't be unpacked until we move into a house. I have to say Darrel has pretty impressive stacking/organizing skills. The people from church who helped us move in seemed a little skeptical about everything fitting but Darrel has done a great job. Posted by Picasa

Yes, they do grow too fast

I lifted this idea from a scrapbooking magazine...love it. I also adore some of these photos of Jack...I haven't scrapped many of them so it was fun to document his different expressions.

So today was pack pack pack day. I feel like we got a lot done, both Darrel and I feel like we are coming close to the end. The stuff that's left is stuff we are using or it's just too soon to pack. The moving truck is being loaded Thursday night, well mostly loaded, we will sleep in the house that night, so we'll need our beds etc but we will then have all of Friday to load the last few things and clean the house. And the cleaning isn't too bad since we cleaned like crazy for the open house. Soooo, we think we're in good shape...hooray. It feels so strange that we are moving! And so strange that we are going to be having a baby in 3.5 weeks...wow. Posted by Picasa

Date Night Fishing

Darrel and I went on a guided fishing trip for date night, along with some good friends, Carey and Brenda Gatz. It was really fun, and we all caught fish! Hooray!! And Darrel caught a big catfish, his dream for the last few summers.

The first picture is of me with the big catfish I caught, Darrel is holding it for me in the next picture...there is no way I was picking that thing up! It was a beautiful night out on the Red River, no rain, warm and hardly any bugs.
