I've been thinking this evening about my blessings, and all that I have. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I will jot some of them down.
-A great husband who I truly do adore. More than that, I really respect Darrel, he is many things that I wish I was or am trying to be.
-Two healthy children. Allergies aside, I have two precious boys who light up my life and bring me a great deal of joy. They are smart and cute, sometimes crafty and a handful, but overall really adorable.
-Good friends who make me laugh, care about me, and keep me sane. Friends truly do make life livable.
-Plenty. And when I say that I mean "plenty" of really everything. More than enough to eat (if weight is any indicator, sigh), warm clothes, books to read, a home to live in, gadgets, and clean water that I didn't have to haul myself or boil. I do wish for more time, but if I stop to think of it I have more time to do as I wish than most people on this planet, so I can't even complain about that.
-I've got security and comfort in that I know that families are forever and seeing our loved ones again after we die is part of 'the plan'. I know that there is something after this life, and it's not a big scary thing, rather a big happy thing. I am comforted by the existence of a loving God who wants us to be happy and have joy.
-I am very very thankful that I can read and that I have access to a library. Imagine not being able to read!? I can't.
-Our families (Darrel's and mine) are huge blessings in our lives. I am grateful for a mother who taught me what was really important in life and how to have empathy for others. I am blessed immensely by the love, care and concern that are given to us by our families.
-Freedom and peace. My grandfather moved his family to Canada after WWII. I am living the blessings of that decision. It is hard to imagine living in a country where peace does not exist, we are so sheltered here. I love my country.
-Those are some of the biggies, on a smaller scale some of the other things I'm thankful for are:
-my camera, I've taken over 7500 pictures since I got it less than three years ago. Digital rocks!
-smoothies, yummm
-warm baths
