We've all experienced that embarrassing moment when you realize that you have misheard the lyrics to a song and have been singing it incorrectly for years. I'll never forgot being outed by a primary teacher (by name, to the entire ward in a sacrament meeting talk), for mis-singing the lyrics to Jesus Once Was a Little Child. Apparently my little six year self thought the line, "He was poor and meek and mild" actually was, "He was poor and weak and wild". I tell you I was crushed. I'm surprised I ever sung in primary again.
Thus, I'm only mentioning this here on my blog where my readers can chuckle in the privacy of their own homes and not in real time/world where Jack can hear laughter.
This week he was singing at the top of his lungs:
Ring around the rosie
Cock a doodie pony
Husha Husha
We all fall down.

When my gran was alive, one of her favourite stories about my dad involved a Christmas carol. The kids at school were to draw a scene from their favourite carol, and my dad came home with a picture of a giant fat guy (took up 2/3 of the page), a skinny lady, and a baby. Gran asked dad what the picture was, and dad -- with an exasperated sigh -- explained that it was from Silent Night (duh!). Gran was still confused, so she asked who the people were. Dad explained: "It's obvious! It's Round John Virgin, mother, and child." That story made her laugh for the rest of her days.
Thats so cute and funny! I cant thin of a miss sung emberassing moment, but i can tell you up until 2 weeks ago i thought donnie and marie osmond were married. Yes its true, i was very emberassed to find out i was wrong especially since it was infront alot of people. I just figured cause the last name was the same they were married.
Who would dare embarrass you like that? That's awful! Hope the laughter of Jack's misheard lyrics take away the sting of your own experience. :)
