Today we visited the Muttart Conservatory. Darrel's best friend, Grant, is visiting from Lethbridge so we took the opportunity to be tourists in our own city. It felt so good to be in the warmth and sun of the pyramids and smell the plants and flowers. Jack loved the pools with the giant koi, the snake like cacti, and the paths to run on. Grant was in his element taking photos. I find that Grant is one of the easiest people I know to just "hang out" with. We always have a fun time when he visits, (or we visit him). And I think that partly it is that, (as both he and Darrel have described), he is both interesting and interested. Interesting because he knows something about a lot of things, has personality and opinions. Interested because he is always genuinely interested in what you think, do, and feel. Thanks for coming Grant!

Oooh, I love the moist, damp smell of the Muttart pyramids. Glad you had such a nice day!
I feel very touched by your comments. I had a wonderful time. I think the trip to Muttart was the highlight of my weekend. (Not taking anything away from the geocaching/male bonding thing of course.) I enjoyed seeing you all enjoying the time spent there. And of course being able to take so many wonderful images had a part to do with it. I am sad to report that the family portrait is not a framer - interesting as it is.
Ah, you were in Edmonton. I thought maybe you had scooted to Victoria for the weekend! I eon't think the Conservatory here looks quite that lush.
Grant's comment about the family portrait...I smell a story.
