Boys

Today Jack peed down the heat register in his room. (Acccccccccccccck!) When I discovered this I was quite aghast and asked him, "Why did you do this, it's not okay?!" His matter of fact answer was that this pipe went down to the basement right beside the plumbing pipe from the toilet. You really should have seen how earnest he was in his reasoning. He really did not see a difference at all. So we had a little chat, (once again), about only using the toilet for going to the bathroom, and why it was important to not pee (or do other bathroom business) in other places. From conversations with others I am finding that this is typical boy behaviour. "I was busy, I had to pee, why not go right here right now, the equipment makes it easy." Mercy. There are times in parenting you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

For all of you completely grossed out. The vent was mostly closed so primarily it had pooled on top. I managed to get it out and wash it off. So with any luck the room won't stink to high heaven the next time the furnace is turned on. If not we might end up having to hang a potporri ball in there or something to counteract the days events.

That is hilarious. Probably not hilarious at the time, but you have a very clever boy to figure out that this way might actual be more direct to get things to the downstairs plumbing.

Oh my. I hope for everyone in your household that it does not smell when the furnace is turned on. Tell them, if it doesn't look like a toilet, then then can't go in it!
