Often these displays of physical prowess are acted out in the living room, leaping from the arm of the couch into the recliner. Or as I came across a couple of weeks ago, climbing onto the desk in the basement in order to get greater height for leaping on to the bed. I can see some ER visits in my future. Thinking back to my own family, it was my brothers that broke all the bones. (To be completely honest Erika did break two vertebrae in a boating accident but I would say that having someone run over you with a seadoo doesn't really count as your own folly. Not compared to Cameron's skateboarding and Aaron's wrestling fractures.)
I think one of the greatest tests of motherhood is to let go and allow your children to do crazy stunts that could potentially get them hurt. (I know that this really isn't that high or that crazy -but I also know that this is where we are at with a five year old and a three year old, and it's only going to get worse, a lot worse.) I have thought of putting them into some sort of organized sport that lets them do stunts (like gymnastics, or bmx biking) All I know right now is that the next three or four months of winter are looming and I'm going to have to get creative about providing opportunities to burn off some steam.

A really great layout. It looks like you're doing a great job of letting them discover/explore/roughhouse/leap in controlled environments. Way to go!
I have been getting Masa and I to playfight with the boys. I have been reading about how beneficial it can be to little boys in particular and I see how it fullfills, calms them and bond them and us afterwards. Raising little boys are such a fun, challenging and interesting experience.
