Harvest Time

Harvest has hit our household. I've been making salsa and drying herbs this past week. This is a lot of work; however this particular salsa is to die for so I slave away to put up a stash for winter. Yesterday Darrel and Jack dug all the potatoes. He was laughing because we grew about $20 worth of potatoes...but on the other hand we had fun doing it and there is a certain sense of satisfaction at eating your own produce. We also grew swiss chard and the boys even grew to like eating it (given enough ketchup to put on it). All in all it was a very sucessful first year of gardening, we will definitely be out there again next spring.

Congratulations on your bountiful harvest. That salsa looks delicious!
