A Good Idea...But Difficult to Pull Off With a One-Year Old

I saw many variations of a Valentines countdown on the web. So, being the digi-scrapper that I am I made up a background for it, printed it as an 8x12 photo at my local Wal-Mart (hallelujah for $2.00 enlargements!), bought the clipboards at the dollar store and then attached the hershey kisses with tape. Voila! *Pat self on back -I'm the bestest Mom ever!*

The idea was that the children could get their kiss every morning after they had breakfast, gotten dressed, made their bed etc. A small fun reward for getting the day going, (as lately I've been doing a lot of yelling on school days, work days, and well really any time we have to be somewhere at a particular time -and it isn't really working either.)

However, what I failed to plan for is that Julie is a bit of a candy fiend. Well, quite a bit of a candy fiend. Are all third children like this? I think that because she has older siblings who get treats she has been given access to candy far earlier than Jack and Eric ever were, and she's a little candy addict. Basically if she decides it is time for a hershey kiss she screams and screams and screams for her candy (and her brothers). (This picture was taken Feb. 5 and as you can see she is down to 4.) I don't have the heart to put it away (plus I'm kinda frustrated, because they are cute and I made them darn it!) She is also lightning fast at getting up on the table, so if someone has forgotten to bungee cord the chairs together, (yup, we tie up the chairs so she can't pull them out), I will find her up there, fanatically ripping off foil and stuffing her mouth full of chocolate.

I am trying to remind myself that by next Valentines Day she will be better, more pliable, teachable, control-able.
Ha, next V-Day she will be 2, is this wishful thinking on my part? Probably. But whatever you have to tell yourself to stay sane, right?

Those are the cutest things ever. Where do you find the time? You rock!
Our 3rd child is also a candy addict, and pretty much gets whatever she wants because I'm too tired to fight. So good luck with that. Definitely leave the out for her to see, and when the chocolate's gone, it's gone! :)
