I've discovered as part of this load that I love making layouts with lists. I don't know why this hasn't really manifested itself before considering I'm a compulsive list maker in most areas of my life. But scrapbooking + list making = awesome!
A layout about my awesome best friend, who I love dearly.
Here's the journaling in case it's too squinty:
"I’ve been thinking about this layout for more than a year. Seriously. I’ve struggled with it because how do you sum up a friendship that really means the world to you. In the spirit of LOAD I’ve decided that it’s more important to capture feelings and memories than to have something perfect so I’ve decided to give up being eloquent and make a list, (how appropriate for us two type-A personalities!), of a few of the things I love about Karly and our friendship.
1. She is so positive and encouraging. I have never had anyone else consistently cheer me on like she does. I really do feel like I could do anything when I talk to her. 2. She loves my kids. She is so thougtful and kind to them. Whenever I’ve had a baby she has come to meet the new little person and oohed and aahed over them. 3. More than anyone else she knows my story. The ups and downs, the real life, the every day. And I know hers. 4. We share a love of reading, and I know if she likes a book I will like it too. 5. We met when we were 19 (ish), so at this point in 2011 we are quickly approaching the year where we will have been friends for more than half our lives. That’s a lot of shared history. A lot of stuff I don’t have to explain because she was there when it happened. 6. She is super thoughtful and generous. When I look around my house I see so many little things that she has given to me. The jewlery box with Jack’s baby picture, the Love is Spoken Here sign, the Christmas Joy letters, the sliver earrings I wore today. Some friendships wane after living so far apart, but Karly is literally woven into the every day fabric of my life. 7. Karly is a doer. It’s one of the things we pat ourselves on the back about and try not to act too superior about. We both like to be busy, and get stuff done, but we are game for fun too. 8. Karly is such an excellent planner and strategic thinker. Her SEED idea has me seriously excited. I’ve learned a lot about organization from her. 9. We’ve shared some really fun times -especially now that our kids love being together. The K3 (Karly, Kirsten and Kids) cabin trip was so awesome! 10. We love eachother. "

I am really honored and humbled by this layout. I feel that I am the one who is blessed by your friendship. I know that when I talk to you I will be able to carry on and my burdens will seem lighter. I know that your advice is always carefully considered and right! And I know that even though miles and miles will probably always separate us, you are, too, the sister of my heart. I love you!
